Steph Marx, painter

A smooth, mostly white surface. That’s the beginning. It invites reflection; fantasy; dreams. In my artistic work, two aspects interest me the most: colour and shape. Colours, luminous and whirling, express feelings and emotions. Shapes, relief-like crater landscapes, show our experiences, our suffering and the constant movement in our lives. In visualizing fantasies, dreams and reflections on life, thick layers of paper and paint play as important a role as the collected finds from the cities in which I live and travel.
